Daymane Tours

Achta, ragazza sudanese di 21 anni, fugge dalla guerra del suo paese per rifugiarsi in Europa, mitizzata come la “terra promessa”. Dal deserto libico alle coste del Marocco, la sua odissea, segnata dalla ghettizzazione e orchestrata da trafficanti senza scrupoli, disegna la mappa di un mondo permanentemente ostile. Achta dovrà sopportare non solo la fame e la paura, ma anche stupri e prostituzione … Coraggiosa e tenace, termina il suo viaggio a Tours, dove conosce Anne, una giovane francese di 25 anni, che le offre aiuto. Ma la sua permanenza in Francia sarà ricca di sorprese e contraddizioni.

Achta, a 21-year-old Sudanese girl, escare the war in her country to seek refuge in Europe, descrive as “the promise land”. From the libyan desert to the Moroccan coasts, her odyssey draws the map of a permanently hostile world marked by ghettoisation and orchestated by unscrupulous traffickers. To fulfill her dream, Achta will have to endure not only hunger and fear, but also rape and ends her trip in Tours. As soon as she arrives, she meets Anne, a 25-years-old French woman who offers to her some help. But her life in France will be full of surprises and contradictions.

Pepiang Toufdy è nato nel 1988 a N’djamena, in Ciad. Formato come animatore sociale e culturale, dopo aver lavorato per anni in numerose associazioni, nel 2006, durante un workshop nel Centro Giovanile Lavoratori a Tours, realizza il suo primo cortometraggio Lettres de l’Étranger. Pepiang Toufdy è fondatore e direttore artistico dell’Associazione Prod’Cité, a Tours in Francia. Nel 2009 crea il Festival Imag’IN e dal 2014, in Ciad, organizza il primo film festival in lingua francese “Toumaï Film International” la cui missione è di sostenere la cinematografia ciadiana e africana. Daymane Tours è il suo quarto film, (secondo cortometraggio).

Pepiang Toufdy was born in 1988 in N’djamena, Chad. Formed as a social and cultural animator, after working for many years in numerous associations, in 2006, during a workshop at the Youth Workers’ Center in Tours, he mad ehis first short film Lettres de l’Étranger. Pepiang Toufdy is the founder and art director of the Prod’Cite Association, in Tours, in France. In 2009 he created the organized “Toumai Film International”, the first film festival in French language whose missioni s to support Chadian and African cinematography. Daymane Tours is fourth film (second short film).
